Nous sommes également très heureux de vous annoncer que Angil and the Hiddentracks seront de retour dès cet été avec un EP vinyle 4 titres inédits, pour lequel nous allons lancer de nouveau (comme pour son dernier album Now) une campagne de crowdfunding avec nos amis de Microcultures !

Old Mountain Station est un jeune groupe parisien qui joue une musique au croisement de la pop et du folk rock. On est ici en plein americana, des années 90 de Grandaddy à Pavement en passant par Dinosaur Jr. Après plusieurs EP autoproduits prometteurs et de nombreux concerts (dont certains avec Angil and the hiddentracks pour lequel le groupe reprendra le titre "Lift trip to Mars" sur notre coffret des 10 ans du label) le groupe passe à la vitesse supérieure avec leur premier album produit et mixé par l'immense Kid Loco, et avec le featuring de la talentueuse Julie B. Bonnie (ex Cornu, Forgette-mi-note) aux cordes. Des chansons aux refrains fédérateurs à reprendre en choeur, des morceaux aux arrangements épiques à des titres plus proche de l'esprit lo-fi des débuts, vous ne pourrez pas ne pas tomber amoureux de ce groupe attachant dont la mélancholie tenace saura vous frapper en plein coeur. Nous sommes très heureux de les accueillir parmis nous.

Old Mountain Station is a Parisian band standing at a crossroads between pop and folk. We're talking pure nineties Americana here - everything from Grandaddy and Pavement to Dinosaur Jr. After they played many gigs (some of them on the same bill with Angil and the Hiddentracks) and released a good number of self-released solid EPs, the band started working on their first proper album with legend Kid Loco (who mixed and produced) and the talented Julie B. Bonnie (from 'Cornu' and 'Forgette-mi-note' fame) on strings. With their catchy sing-along choruses and their witty arrangements, it is impossible not to like them, even when they're at their most lo-fi. We're verry happy to get them on board.

Michael Wookey est un jeune artiste anglais déjà auteur de 3 albums autoproduits, ainsi que de nombreuses performances autour du toy-piano. Pour son nouvel album, celui-ci a enrolé les Hiddentracks d'Angil pour apporter une plus grande orchestration à ses chansons. Et force est de constater que les Hiddentracks se sont intégrés à merveille dans l'univers fou et attachant de Michael, sorte de Tom Waits british embarqué dans un cabaret cauchemardesque. Enregistré en une semaine dans une ferme dans le Cantal pendant l'été 2011, puis masterisé en Islande par Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk,  Feist, Cocorosie), cet album "Submarine Dreams" (dont la pochette a été réalisée par Gabriela Friðriksdóttir,collaboratrice de longue date de Björk) s'est imposé naturellement à nous comme une évidence.

Before he joined us, young English artist Michael Wookey had already recorded three self-released albums and worked on many pieces for toy pianos. For his new record, he used The Hiddentracks as his backing band. He had them play arrangements that provide a fuller and richer sound to his music. And they're a costume that suits him well. The crazy, Tom Waitsy world of Wookey manages the feat of being both endearing and nightmarish at the same time. Recorded in over a week in an old barn in the French countryside, then mastered in Iceland by Valgeir Sigurðsson (Björk,  Feist, Cocorosie), this new album Submarine Dream (whose cover was deigned by Gabriela Friðriksdóttir, a long-time Björk collaborator) came as a real gift to us - it was tailor-made for We Are Unique! (even though technically it wasn't).
